A Journey Through Architecture and Art!

Let us take you on a journey through architecture and local culture with our 16 uniquely themed suites!

The Suites with their unique collections of artworks that adorn the walls were commissioned by Sri Lankan artists to uplift the local arts and crafts. Eight local artists were commissioned to depict a theme and create what they felt the name of the suite meant to them, resulting in each room telling a story of the people, culture, and local languages. The resort was originally designed by the timeless architect, Geoffrey Bawa and his engineer Dr. K. Poologasundaram, and later refurbished by Architect Channa Daswatta.

“Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder” and as Channa Daswatte talks about the suites, allow yourself to be immersed in the distinctive art and creativity that Sri Lanka has to offer. Local folklore and the inimitable nature surrounding us, offer depth and inspiration to the artisans to create these signature pieces.

Experience the beauty inspired by the frangipani tree in our Araliya suite. Run your fingers across the intricate, weaving of the Beeralu in the Beeralu suite.
